The Listening Ear are holding a virtual Charity Walk on the weekend of the 10th and 11th of July, to help children and young people in BCP.

• Take the family along, or set yourself a personal challenge

• Let your friends and colleagues know that you are raising money for charity, maybe they will want to join in , or sponsor you!

• Chance to win prizes as well

 

With the weather improving, and summertime once again upon us, the urge to go outside, and celebrate some time with friends and family, is a powerful one.  What better way to use this urge, than to raise money to support children and young people in your local area?

 

The Listening Ear, like many other charities, has been hugely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s meant that we haven't been able to fundraise within the community that we support, as all local events had been cancelled, or hugely scaled back.

 

Holding a virtual event avoids the pitfalls of gathering a crowd of people together during the pandemic - it avoids the need for you to complete lots of forms, take tests, or do risk assessments.  It also means that the charity isn't spending money on insurance, or permits - so donations go back into the charity to support the work we do.

How it works

 

It’s so simple. All you need to do is donate £10 to The Listening Ear through our Virgin Money Giving page.  There is a button at the top of the page, or just click this link:  https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/donation-web/charity?charityId=1014181&stop_mobi=yes

Let us know that you have donated please - send an email to fundraising@thelisteningear.org with your name.  That way we can match up your donation and email address.  This means that we can also contact you, should you win a prize - more on that below.

 

It's up to you if you walk, jog, or run.  You decide the route.  Please do let us know on social media though - whether on Facebook (@thelisteningearbournemouth), Instagram (@thelisteningear_charity) or Twitter (@Listeningear_Bh), use the hashtag #TLECharityWalk to let us know how your Charity Walk is going!   

 

The virtual event runs over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of June - so once the Sunday is over, we’ll be holding a draw for those that have contacted us and donated.  We are very grateful to a number of wonderful local businesses that have donated prizes - Thanks go out to The Lounges, The Moka Pot, Mudeford Rocks, Hiker Cafe, The Brew Cafe, and The Mocha Turtle.
